We look forward to welcoming many of you, and look forward to giving a special toast to our new members who successfully graduated from their MAS MTEC studies.

In addition to the opportunity to meet with alumni old and new, you will have the opportunity to meet and hear from the following special guests:

- Prof. Hui Chen, winner of the Golden Owl Award for exceptional teaching at D-MTEC.
- Isabel Spicker (Alumni Relations & Mentoring) and Evelina Kramer (MAS Programme Manager) will share insights from a D-MTEC perspective into the past year and what is being planned in the future for Alumni and the MAS programme. 
- Franziska Juch, General Secretary, ETH Alumni Association

Members from the ETH MAS MTEC Alumni Board will also take a brief look back at the year past, and some insights into what is planned for 2025.

We invite you to join your fellow alumni on a VIP visit to CERN on January 18th, 2025.

We will have a guided tour of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment where we will access the CMS detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). At 27 kilometres, the LHC is the largest and most powerful particle accelerator ever built. Access to the detector is only possible once a year, when CERN is undergoing maintenance.

The CMS experiment is one of the largest international scientific collaborations in history involving over 5’500 scientists and engineers. The research conducted ranges from the Standard Model (including the Higgs boson) to searching for extra dimensions and particles that could make up dark matter.
