Chapter Shanghai Alumni Autumn Gathering 2021
Chapter Shanghai Alumni
A group of 20 ETH alumnae and alumni including their family and friends had a nice autumn gathering in Shanghai on a sunny weekend. A delicious Raclette brunch was combined with a healthy biking tour to the historical Osmanthus Garden.
The Osmanthus Garden is one of the most seasonal places to visit in autumn for local Shanghainese. This historical garden, which is almost a hundred years old, has the largest planting area and the largest variety of Osmanthus trees in Shanghai.
Blossom to the peak
Every year in late autumn, more than 1,000 Osmanthus trees with a total of 23 varieties blossom to the peak while exuding Osmanthus fragrance all over the garden. Besides the flowers, there are lots of featured buildings in the Osmanthus Garden, such as long corridors, stone bridges and pavilions. These buildings are extremely exquisite in the design and construction technology, showing high artistic value.
Memories of Zurich
On a sunny weekend in late autumn 2021, more than 20 ETH alumnae and alumni participated with their family and friends in the Autumn Gathering of the Chapter Shanghai Alumni. Our alumnae and alumni had a great time reminiscing our time in Zurich while having Raclette and other Swiss style food for brunch. Besides sharing delicious food, everybody also shared news and latest trends in their own working fields, such as smart city, energy saving, cross border investment, and so on. After the brunch, some participants shared city bicycles to the Osmanthus Garden and had a nice walk around.
Sharing and staying connected
This event was highly appreciated by our Chapter members, as sharing and staying connected are the core concepts of our Chapter. We all look forward to the next catch-up!
