On 16 October 2020, swissnex China, hosted the biggest Swiss Alumni China Soirée, graced by the presence of H.E. Ambassador Bernardino Regazzoni. Every year, swissnex China holds the Swiss Alumni China gathering in Shanghai for a network of over 3,000 Alumni from Swiss Public Universities. It is the annual biggest Swiss University Alumni event in China.

Our working environment has changed because of the corona lockdown. Job seekers, employees but also companies ask themselves how the virus will change the future working life. During the lockdown, we did a survey for job seekers with HR managers. The situation has changed yet again. The current article sheds light on experiences from companies and portray the situation in different organisations.

Chapter Ticino Alumni visited the construction site of the new hydropower station Ritom. After 100 years of operation, the existing plant will be replaced by a more advanced one.

Even as a child, Werner Huber was fascinated with building. As this fascination developed, he studied architecture at ETH. After a couple of years working as an architect and ETH assistant, Werner Huber decided to change tack; moving from a creator of architecture to an appraiser of architecture. He is now the editor of the magazine “Hochparterre”. His book “Architekturführer Zürich”, the first ever guide into the architecture of Zurich, was published this summer.

Am 13. Oktober tauchen 14 Ortsgruppe Bern Alumni in die Industriegeschichte von Aarau ein. Eine erste Führung findet am Morgen in der Rüetschi Glockengiesserei statt. Nach dem Mittagessen gibt es eine Zweite durch die Stadt. Den Abschluss macht die Gruppe im Stadtmuseum.
