Luzius Meisser: «Computer science penetrates the financial sector with block chain»

Luzius Meisser studied computer science at the ETH and is considered an expert in block chain. He is the co-founder of the Bitcoin Association Switzerland and accompanies several fintechs as investor or member of the board. He is currently working at his PhD in «banking and finance». On the 9th April, he will talk about how software engineers influence the financial sector.

On January 17, 2019, the Alumni Chapter Baden traditionally met at the Villa Boveri. The president, Thomas Blättler, could welcome to the stage a constructor of a special kind – Simon Libsig. He entertained the 100 attendees with rhymes of four dozens pharmaceuticals without drawing breath, or so it seemed. Back in the days, he would have been called a lyricist; nowadays he is called a slam poet

Chapter Sao Paulo Alumni
Swissnex São Paulo invited to a pre-Christmas cocktail in December already for the fourth time. Its objective is to celebrate Swiss-Brazilian relations and to connect alumni, who work in the region, from Swiss universities.

Chapter Ticino Alumni
The Alumni Chapter Ticino visited the new district heating centre of Energie Rinnovabili Losone SA (ERL SA) in Losone near Locarno on November 9, 2018. 15 members participated at this event. The group’s guide was the engineer Pietro Mariotta. He is the secretary of ERL SA’s administrative council and a member of the alumni chapter Ticino.

The ETH Alumni Chapter Greece invited Professor Emeritus Christos Zerefos, member of the Athens academy, on December 4, 2018. Prof. Emeritus Christos Zerefos presented the topic « The study of the ozone protection zone and the contribution of the ETH Zurich »in the arts centre of the University of Athens. 25 Alumni attended this interesting presentation.
