On 27 March, the MAS MTEC alumni community gathered at the historic Urania Observatory in Zurich. In addition to a tour of the observatory, participants were able to view Jupiter's rings through the telescope. This was followed by a drink and lively discussion in the Rathaus Café.

ETH alumna Zahra Ariyafar had a good job as a Pre-sales Systems Engineer in Tokyo, when she decided to change her career completely. To make her dream come true, she completed a Master’s degree in Management, Technology and Economics at ETH. She now works in human resources and is responsible for enabling employees to develop their careers. She is a great fan of mentoring programmes, as it has greatly helped her throughout her career.

ETH alumna Anna Saur studied Management, Technology and Economics at ETH. This March she was awarded the BME Hochschulpreis for her Master’s thesis and became lead of the Sales & Operations Planning Team of the Swiss firm On, which makes performance running shoes and clothing. In this portrait, Anna tells us what she gained from her course, how she shoulders responsibility in her role as a team leader and how she maintains a good work-life balance.

Tulipan Zollinger obtained an MAS (Master of Advanced Studies) in Management, Technology and Economics at ETH. The trained plant breeder and geneticist and his brothers are the second generation to run their family-owned business. The pioneers in organic seed and online sales are seeing record sales during the present crisis: the lockdown imposed by the state means that lots of people are turning to their gardens.

A show at the Museum für Gestaltung Zurich is dedicated to the essence of SBB’s design in the areas of architecture, industrial design and visual communication. The MAS MTEC Alumni took this multidisciplinary exhibition to celebrate the 150th anniversary on 21st November 2019.

On January 31, 2019, the Red or Blue Virtual Reality Lab offered the exclusive opportunity to a group of 15 MAS MTEC Alumni to delve into the currently available worlds of VR and to learn more about the future innovations.

An airplane - this means technic, fascination and pure emotion! Over 2000 employees at the headquarters of Pilatus Flugzeugwerke AG in Stans give wings to this exaltation - literally. 20 members of the MAS MTEC, AMIV and Process Alumni got the chance to visit the aircraft factory and experience the production of aircrafts on September 12, 2018.
Baustellenbesichtigung THE CIRCLE

Am 16. August 2018 erhielten rund 20 MAS MTEC Alumni die Gelegenheit sich von der grössten Baustelle der Schweiz – The Circle - bei einer Führung beeindrucken zu lassen. Dabei erhielten die Teilnehmenden Auskunft über die Logistik des Baus, Einsicht in die Baustelle selbst und eine Andeutung, was einen nach Vollendung des Mammut-Projektes alles erwartet.

Gespannt betraten am Dienstagabend, 14. März, die rund 30 MAS MTEC Alumni den als Kinosaal ausgestatteten Präsentationsraum von Disney Research Zürich. Man wähnte sich sofort in einer anderen Welt. Weshalb aber beschäftigt eine der weltweit bekanntesten und erfolgreichsten Unternehmung junge Forscher und Entwickler? Und warum macht Disney dies in einer vergleichsweisen kleinen Stadt wie Zürich? Und was wird genau erforscht? Diesen Fragen gingen die MAS MTEC Alumni auf den Grund.
