Getting on the career ladder

Have you recently graduated in Kinesiology or Health Science and Technology? Are you looking for a job? We are happy to help you start your working life and offer the following tips:

Networking starts at university: maintain your contacts with other students, show an interest in their work placements and future plans, discuss possible career paths with assistant professors and lecturers. Once you leave university, you will need to actively endeavour to maintain contact with other alumni. There are various ways of doing this:

  • become a member of the HST Alumni and attend the HST Alumni events
  • join the HST Alumni group on Linkedin and Facebook
  • organise meet-ups
  • etc.

Take these opportunities to learn more about the careers and current employment situations of other HST and BWS alumni. Contacts with alumni who studied in the years before you may prove particularly useful because they may well already have changed job or been promoted any number of times.

The HST Alumni provides a free mentoring service for all disciplines. We can offer you the following assistance:

  • Contacts with people working in interesting positions
  • Strategies for applying for jobs
  • Information about starting salaries
  • Review of your covering letter or CV (also see services provided by the ETH Career Center)
