Join us for a casual afterwork apéro riche at the relaxing apoTHEKE Bar, a few minutes’ walk from the ETH Main Building (HG). We look forward to welcoming many of you, and look forward to giving a special toast to our new members who successfully graduated from their MAS MTEC studies. In addition to the opportunity to meet with alumni old and new, you will have the opportunity to meet and hear from the following special guests: Members from the ETH MAS MTEC Alumni Board will also take a brief look back at the year past, and some insights into what is planned for 2025. |

VIP CERN Tour

Meyrin Esplanade des Particules 1 1217 Meyrin We invite you to join your fellow alumni on a VIP visit to CERN on January 18th, 2025. We will have a guided tour of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment where we will access the CMS detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). At 27 kilometres, the LHC is the largest and most powerful particle accelerator ever built. Access to the detector is only possible once a year, when CERN is undergoing maintenance. The CMS experiment is one of the largest international scientific collaborations in history involving over 5’500 scientists and engineers. The research conducted ranges from the Standard Model (including the Higgs boson) to searching for extra dimensions and particles that could make up dark matter. Organized by ETH MAS MTEC Alumni, the first Alumni Book Club meeting delved into How Big Things Get Done: The Surprising Factors That Determine the Fate of Every Project, from Home Renovations to Space Exploration and Everything In Between.
A Night under the Stars - A look back on the MAS MTEC Alumni Event in the Urania Observatory
On 27 March, the MAS MTEC alumni community gathered at the historic Urania Observatory in Zurich. In addition to a tour of the observatory, participants were able to view Jupiter's rings through the telescope. This was followed by a drink and lively discussion in the Rathaus Café.
