September regulars' table
On September 5, 2024, the Luxembourg Alumni Chapter hosted its traditional gathering at 18:30 at the Schobermesse in the "An der Flesch" ("In der Flasche") marquee. 22 alumni accepted the invitation.
Folk festival from 23.8. to 11.9.2024, daily from 12 noon to 1 a.m.
216 showmen from five countries (Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France]) provide fun and good humor during the 682nd edition of this folk festival with their fairground rides, stores, bars and restaurants.
There are 5000 seats available in twelve restaurants.
Venue
The Schobermesse is held on a 4.4 hectare site called the "Glacis". Here are some of this year's rides:
Bayern Kurve
A rollercoaster-like attraction where a train travels along an inclined, circular track, gaining speed as it goes.
Starlight
Passengers experience a fast-paced uphill and downhill ride, accompanied by music hits from various decades. The ride is enlivened by its spectacular light show, fire effects, wafts of fog and a unique laser show.
Both forwards and backwards rides will keep passengers entertained.
Galloping carousel
Classic ride characterized by its nostalgic aesthetics and moving figures that gallop up and down as the carousel spins.
Mr Gravity
The 20-meter high carousel resembles a frying pan. The steep incline and remarkable height give passengers a thrilling experience. The ride is characterized by strong acceleration changes in the horizontal plane.
Jetlag
High-speed carousel with 12 gondolas that can be controlled independently of each other at an angle of 130 degrees. Up to 4 G-forces and around 100 km/h can be exhausted.
XXL
XXL is a swing whose gondola swings to a height of up to 40 meters and presses its passengers into the seats in the swing valley with four times their weight. The gondola ring also rotates, increasing the feeling of weightlessness at the apex.
Jim & Jasper's Wild Water
Classic wild water ride.
Flying Star
Rotating carousel with 14 suspended gondolas, arranged in a circle. An arm brings the rotating ring to a 90 degree plane to the ground.
Infinity
This looping carousel hurls its passengers up to 65 meters into the air at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour.
1001 Nights
At a height of 27 meters, guests are spun around with one arm rotating around an axis; the guests sit on one side and the counterweight is on the opposite side.
Mini Quad Disco Cars
Electric cars for children that are powered by pantographs. The mini scooters can be steered freely over a surface; the vehicles are secured against jostling with a wide circumferential rubber ring
