About 40 ETH Alumni of the Alumni Chapter Baden and guests of other Chapters met on May 16, 2019, at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Villigen to experience why the PSI, which operates with large facilities, seems to be the last hope to some people.
Markus Rothacher: «The universe undergoes a democratisation process».
Alumni Focus
Markus Rothacher is professor for Mathematical and Physical Geodesy at ETH Zurich. The "European Geosciences Union" awarded him the Vening Meinesz Medal in 2018. He talks about the practical use of data from space and the fundamental change that space research experienced in the last years. On 25th June, Markus Rothacher will attend the Focus Event about the topic "Space – cutting edge research and high-tech".
The students of the AIV celebrate the beginning of spring

On Thursday, May 16, 2019, the annual spring party of the AIV took place. The weather played along, the guest list was fully booked and the suckling pig was cooked to perfection. Once more, the celebration turned out to be a great success.
Foamy beer and good atmosphere

On Friday, 24th May, the ETH Alumni Association invited to the VSETH «Summerbar» on the «Polyterrasse». The good weather enticed to drink an after-work beer. Numerous people took advantage of the offer and enjoyed the lovely view onto the city.
Extremely spontaneous: Environmental Science Alumni attending an improvisational theatre workshop

A sunny Saturday afternoon at the beginning of April, where 16 Umwelt Alumni meet up in a hall of Töpferei Zürich for a theatre adventure. We attend a workshop about improvisational theatre conducted by the known theatre group Anundpfirsich, organized by the Environmental Science Alumni.
