Meeting of Swiss Young Professionals

Japan Chapter

On the evening of June 27, it was time for the 20th so-called “Swiss Young Professionals” gathering, a highly popular event for the young or young-at-heart “local” Swiss community in Tokyo as well as Japanese friends of Switzerland.

The meeting is regularly organized by the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan in collaboration with the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (SCCIJ) and attracts a significant crowd of professionals and students, including some of the members of the ETH Alumni Japan Chapter and alumni of other Swiss universities.

Networking over the city

On the occasion of the 20th edition, the event moved to the top floor of the “Nicolas G. Hayek Center” in the heart of Tokyo’s glittery high-end Ginza shopping district. As usual, a large number of people made use of this chance to socialize, to exchange their latest experiences or to make new contacts, while enjoying snacks and drinks either inside the spacious hall or on the roof-top terrace with great views of Ginza by night.

Exclusive event with an exclusive lottery

Due to the extraordinary high popularity of this special event, people without prior registration had to be turned away, including an unlucky ETH Alumnus. Those that secured their seats in advance, were rewarded with the usual great networking opportunities, while eagerly awaiting the chance to win a Swatch in the lottery held during the event. Unfortunately, none of the ETH Alumni were among the lucky ones, but having enjoyed a great evening, this was not too big of a disappointment.

The ETH Alumni Japan Chapter would like to thank the organizers for providing the chance to experience another highly pleasant evening and is looking forward to future events.
