Anna Torriani: “I lived my dream at the ETH Zurich by being a student there”

ETH Alumna Anna Torriani and her husband and business partner Lorenzo Pagnamenta run their own architecture atelier in New York and their work can be seen all over the world. Establishing herself in New York has never been easy but it was their belief in improving the world through architecture that made their atelier so successful. The ETH Alumni Association talked with Anna about her career since leaving ETH and her inspirations.
Gabor Cselle: “The first startup is always the hardest”

Albert Einstein failed the ETH Zurich admission test – Gabor Cselle barely passed. A wake-up call for the ETH Alumnus which had a big impact on his future. After graduating in computer science at the ETH Zurich, he founded two startups and sold them to Twitter and Google. Today he is an operating partner of Area 120 at Google.
Neues Weiterbildungsangebot: MAS in Collective Housing

Im Januar 2017 bietet die ETH zum ersten Mal in Zusammenarbeit mit der Polytechnischen Universität Madrid (UPM) einen Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Collective Housing an. Der Kurs findet vor Ort in Madrid statt und dauert sechs Monate. „Update“ sprach mit Prof. Andrea Deplazes, Professor für Architektur und Konstruktion und Co-Studienleiter, über das einzigartige Weiterbildungsangebot sowie sein letztes grosses Projekt, die Monte-Rosa-Hütte.
